SCARF JOINING PLYWOOD

Scarfing plywood is easily accomplished using a belt-sander or a sharp hand plane. An electric plane, or  sandpaper wrapped around a piece of 2x4 may also be used. To scarf ¼" plywood, stack both pieces, setback 2" from the end of each panel. Plane to a feathered edge, following the lamination lines in the plywood. By scarfing both pieces at the same time, the angles will automatically "match".
