"Buckey" was a fun project!  This was the first time I've built a boat, and had no problems. I went beyond the kit and added inwhales and decks. mainly for the looks.

I will admit it has been  long time since I've paddled a canoe or even a pirogue, but found it hard to keep a straight course when padding solo, even using a "J" stroke. Was ok when I had a bow paddler, but wandered all over the lake when I was alone. Might be better if I used a double kayak paddle or added a keel. I also noticed the floor buckling a bit when getting in; a keel should stiffen that up also.

Now to build a twin for my fleet! Maybe a square stern, or a 12 footer.....
